Directory
Directory (in the sidebar, under Contacts) keeps the companies you work with and the people at them. It's for your suppliers' account executives, a partner's engineers, the billing contact at your internet provider. The people who write in to the help desk are a separate list, in Contacts.
Companies
Each company has a type (supplier, customer, partner, internal area or other), a tax ID (RUT), phone, email, website, address and notes. Click a company's name to see everything linked to it:
- its people;
- the contracts you have with it;
- the equipment bought from it.
Deleting a company keeps its people in the directory, without a company. Its contracts and equipment keep the rest of their details.
People
Each person has a name, job title, area (account executive, management, sales, technical, support, billing or other), email, phone, mobile and notes. Only the name is required. Filter the list by area or company, or search by name, title, company or email.
Where it's used
- Contracts: pick the supplier from the directory, and the person to call there. See Contracts.
- Inventory: record which supplier each piece of equipment was bought from. See Assets.
Who can do what
- Look people up: anyone who can read tickets.
- Add, edit or delete: roles with Manage contacts' personal data, which administrators have.
Changes are recorded in the audit log, by record id only, without names.
